Chloroquine

Chloroquine is an anti malarial drug.. 
It is also known as chloroquine phosphate 
Recently"Doctors found that Hydroxy chloroquine is used in the treatment of coronavirus ,and it shows good result in the recover of  covid patients..
Hydroxy chloroquine reduce fever and fever is the main symptom of corona virus.. 
India supply chloroquine to many countries including Italy, America.. 
Chloroquine is an antimalarial drug that used to treat high fever caused by the mosquito bite .. 
Hydroxy chloroquine is the metabolite of chloroquine , it is less toxic used to treat rheumatoid arthritis..

Mode of action 
There is no well known action of chloroquine ' chloroquine used to inhibit the formation of hemozoin (HZ) from the released heam by the digestion of hemoglobin in there acidic vocule .. 
The free heam then lysis membrane and leads to parasite death.. 

USES
1-Hepatic amoebiasis 
2-Giardiasis 
3-Clonorchis sinesis 
4-Rheumatoid arthritis 
5-Malaria

2-vomiting 
3-itching 
4-Uneasines 
5-frequent headache 
Use of these drugs for long time (As need in arthritis) you may lose of vision because it damage your Retinal..

Loss of hearing, rashes, Allergy, mental disturbance may occur through long term use..

Bitter in taste 
Tablet shouldn't be chewed 
Injected through parental (i v) route.. 
And not injected through ( im) route

50%bound to plasma

Chloroquine resistance 
Chloroquine resistance is due to decreased accumulation chloroquine in the food vacuole (Organelle like structure in which the breakdown of hemoglobin and the detoxification of hem occurs) 
Chloroquine resistance among p. Vivax has been slow !!
BUT P. falcipuram has wide spread in India
 P. Falcipuram produces more severe form of malaria with considerable mortality ..
